Email from Kate Wall 11-02-2022

Good morning,  Several items –

I received the following email from David Fink concerning the event honoring Tom Hennick:

Please spread the word to the other town clerks who were so kind to nominate Tom Hennick. He is going to get one of the awards! And as much as it's important that we give these awards to Tom and the other recipients, it's especially important that, for Mitch, we have a good crowd of his friends, admirers, colleagues and board members in attendance. It would be a shame if he looked around and didn't see a robust crowd. So, no pressure, but if you and some of the other clerks who nominated Tom are interested, it'd be great to meet you in person and toast Tom and Mitch. To make it easy for you, here's the link to buy tickets:

In advance, I'll say thank you. Hope to see you Nov. 10th, 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm, Mark Twain House & Museum. – David Fink

I would encourage you to attend if at all possible, Tom has been very good to the Town Clerks and many of us nominated him for this well deserving award.  I have purchased my ticket and I am planning to attend.  Please let me know if you will also be attending.

Tickets are $25.00 per person.

New England Conference - NEACTC

Many of us are starting to prepare our budgets for the 23/24 fiscal year.  I would encourage all Connecticut Town Clerks to budget for the New England Conference to be held in CONNECTICUT at Water’s Edge in November of 2023. Michele Grande, Town Clerk in Redding will be the 2023 President of NEACTC. We should all try to support her and this wonderful organization. Registration for the 2022 conference being held in Chatham, Massachusetts is $250.00. I would think Connecticut would be the same. Membership for NEACTC is due in January and is extremely reasonable at $35.00 for Town/City Clerk and $25.00 for your Deputy/Assistants. Please check out the website for more information

During the 2022 NEACTC Conference, the Connecticut Conference Committee will be hosting a raffle fundraiser. Please consider donating a raffle prize to help support the 2023 Conference. The Conference Committee is looking to Connecticut Clerks for donations of raffle baskets, gift cards, items to go into raffle baskets (gas cards, lottery tickets, wine, handmade jewelry or art, Thanksgiving/fall items and Christmas items with a value of at least $25), etc….  If you have a donation but will not be attending the New England conference at Chatham Bars Inn, please contact Jeff Dunkerton, Westport Town Clerk or Wendy Gannon Lionetti, Ridgefield Town Clerk and they will make arrangements to pick up the donations.

If you are attending the conference, please support the committee’s efforts and buy lots of tickets 😊.

Also we have received a lovely thank you note from Karen Hazen. (click here to view)

Once again, thank you for all the you do. This election and the last few have been challenging but we have continued to rock it!
