Town Clerks and Genealogists Action Group
The Town Clerks and Genealogist Action Group (TCGAG or "Group") is an informal discussion group consisting of volunteer representatives of the Connecticut Town Clerks Association and of the genealogical societies of Connecticut, with additional representation welcome from other related organizations.
The purposes of the Group are to develop a rapport between the custodians of vital records and the genealogists to understand how we might be helpful to each other; to establish a regular vechicle for mutual communication between custodians of vital records and genealogists; to facilitate raising and addressing concerns arising in either area regarding the other; to find productive and positive ways to deal with conflicts that may arise in the course of genealogical research; and to undertake projects and programs on issues of mutual concern.
Leadership of the Group shall be vested in two Co-Chairpersons (one Town Clerk and one Genealogist) who shall serve two-year terms. The Group shall decide on the times and places of its meetings as required. Unless otherwise stated, business shall be conducted in accordance with Robert's Rules of Order.
